Rebrand Series: Chicago Blackhawks 3rds

This concept is more of an improvement of an old idea. For as long as I can remember the Blackhawks have had the same shoulder logo; the one with the 2 tomahawks crossed with a C in front of them.  Cool idea, poor execution in my opinion, to me it just feels as if a 5 year old drew this and the team thought hey why not.
The main focus of the new Blackhawks 3rds, is improving that logo.  As you can see all I've done is make that logo look a little bit more intimidating and less cartoony.
The jersey was tough, as with the rebranded home away jerseys I posted a couple of weeks ago.  The Blackhawks jerseys have changed little over the years and so, I decided to go with the same design as their actual home jerseys with the new logo on the chest.
I really like the logo and could definitely see it being used in place of the primary logo:

Rebrand Series: Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks have a very rich history, that being said I gotta say their logos could use a bit of an update.  I know many of you will disagree as time and again the Blackhawks logo is rated as one of the best, but I gotta say I'm not a huge fan.
With that it mind, the 3rd jersey that the Blackhawks just recently retired is one of my favourites of all time.  As a result I've decided to take that jersey design as the basis of this rebrand and spruce it up with some flare and a new logo.
The jersey itself is indeed very similar to the actual 3rds the Blackhawks were wearing a couple of years ago, but I've taken the liberty to add some new elements. I've added faint tomahawks and feathers within the beige portions (black portions on the away jersey) which, as seen on my rebranded Red Wings jerseys, looks pretty sweet!
The logo itself is a tribute to the logo dawned on the jersey my concept is based on, with the Blackhawks text encircling a new logo.  Inside I've placed a 3 feathered headdress sitting behind a pair of tomahawks which I think pays tribute to the teams nickname without being slightly offensive, hopefully.
I experimented making the away version beige, but it just looked tacky so I stuck with the white, enjoy:

Shaking Things up in the Windy City: Chicago

I have to be completely honest, I have no idea why i decided to design the Blackhawks jersey the way I did back in 2003.  I mean, I remember wanting to use their shoulder crest because it was something different from the logo they have been using for decades, but the white striping with the random thin black stripe through the middle, no idea.  I do remember thinking that there was some significance back in 2003 and I want to say it had something to do with their old jerseys, or something on one of their logos but hey, who knows.  Maybe I just thought it would look cool, and it does....doesn't it?
